This is historic. This is right. This is a moment that millions of Americans have fought for, suffered for, and dreamed endless and, for the majority of history, seemingly hopeless dreams of. This is a triumph of hope, an action proving that even the most distant and unlikely hopes are always worth holding. This is beautiful to all that celebrate the majesty of equality for all people, in all places. This, in the perspective of my six year old son, is confounding as, in his eyes untarnished by a culture of derision, this is how it always should have been. This must be celebrated, but also recognized as a step along a path of great length to finally achieve the grand potential of our society.
